KOKOMO, IN : 14-year-old airlifted after car crash on Monday, February 20th 2017
A 14-year-old boy was transported to an Indianapolis hospital following a three-vehicle crash in Howard County on Monday.
According to a Howard County Sheriff’s Department crash report, at around 3:45 p.m. a 2007 Pontiac G5, driven by a 17-year-old female, was traveling southbound on County Road West in Ervin Township.
The report states the driver didn’t entirely stop at a stop sign at the Indiana 22 intersection and was struck by a 2015 GM Sierra driven by Bing A. Taylor, 53, Kokomo, who was traveling east on Indiana 22.
The Pontiac was then struck by a westbound 2004 Dodge Ram driven by William F. Anderson, 72, Kokomo.
Anderson told deputies he hit the car after Taylor’s vehicle knocked it into his lane of travel.
The 14-year-old passenger in the Pontiac was initially transported to an area hospital by ambulance due to head injuries. He was later transported via helicopter to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis due to the severity of the injuries.
Damage was calculated between $50,001 and $100,000.
