CHESAPEAKE, VA : 19-year-old motorcyclist killed in Chesapeake crash on Saturday, 25h May 2024
A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Chesapeake on Saturday afternoon, the Chesapeake Police Department (CPD) said.
According to CPD, the crash happened around 5:17 p.m. at the intersection of Hanbury Road and Benson Lane, near the Route 168 Expressway ramps.
A preliminary investigation indicates a motorcycle, driven by 19-year-old Jeffrey Redding of Chesapeake, was traveling east on Hanbury Road approaching the intersection when a pickup truck traveling west turned in front of the motorcycle to enter a shopping center at Benson Lane. The motorcycle then hit the side of the truck, killing Redding.
