PORT SHELDON TWP, MI : Bicyclist injured in collision with vehicle on Thursday, September 21st 2017

A 66-year-old bicyclist from Jenison was injured Thursday afternoon when he collided with a car at the intersection of 146th Avenue and Stanton Street.According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Cal Keuning, the incident occurred at 3:56 p.m. Thursday when Bruce Jabaay was bicycling west on Stanton and traveled into the intersection of 146th.

Keuning said a vehicle driven by Michelle Wilson, 53, of Zeeland, was traveling on 146th and started into the Stanton/146th intersection in front of Jabaay. Keuning said Jabaay was unable to avoid Wilson’s vehicle and he struck her car.

Jabaay, who was injured in the collision, was transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital, while Wilson was uninjured.

Assisting at the scene was the Port Sheldon Fire Department and North Ottawa Community Ambulance.
