Five people, including children, were injured in a rollover crash in Springfield Friday night.

According to Smokey Barn News, the accident happened at 9:30 p.m. on Lakeview Road.

Officials say one car was traveling east when it collided with another car at the intersection of US 431 North.

One of the vehicles rolled over before both cars came to a rest in the grassy area off the roadway.

A mother and her two young children were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The two occupants in the other car were also hospitalized. None of the injuries were serious, according to officials.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol was investigating the crash.
