TRAVERSE CITY, MI : Check and Cash crash on Monday, November, 20th 2017

An elderly man crashed his vehicle through the front of a local check cashing business, pinning and injuring a woman who was inside the storefront at the time.

Traverse City police officers responded to the crash at Check and Cash USA on South Garfield Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, according to police Capt. Keith Gillis. Reports appear to indicate the 89-year-old Traverse City man thought he was pressing the brake, but mistakenly hit the accelerator and crashed through the front of the building, Gillis said.

A woman appeared to have been pinned at one point during the crash. Gillis confirmed the woman was transported to Munson Medical Center with a broken leg.
