Mesa, AZ : Fatal crash on U.S. 60 at Country Club Drive in Mesa on Sunday, 24th November, 2019

Arizona Department of Public Safety was investigating a fatal crash on U.S. 60 at Country Club Drive in Mesa on Sunday morning.

According to DPS officials, DPS received reports of a "vehicle facing sideways" around 2 a.m. Sunday on eastbound U.S. 60.

Officials said troopers found one person with serious injuries who later died.

All lanes on U.S. 60 eastbound at Country Club Drive were closed for an investigation but reopened around 7:30 a.m., ADOT tweeted.

The DPS duty office says one suspect was in custody following the crash and an investigation is ongoing to determine if impairment was a factor.
