At least one person was injured and two lanes of Interstate 85 were closed Friday evening after a vehicle crash in northeast Charlotte.
The wreck happened around 8:30 p.m. on southbound I-85 near Exit 49, which is the Concord Mills Blvd, Bruton Smith Blvd exit. Medic said one person was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.
The person's name and condition have not been released.
Investigators have not said what may have led to the crash or if any charges are being filed.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area if possible while emergency crews worked at the scene.
