Oklahoma City, OK : 79-year-old man died and two men injured in Oklahoma accident on Monday, April 11, 2016

Authorities say a 79-year-old man from Rio Rancho died and two men were injured when the van they were in crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer rig about 9:30 a.m. Monday.

The dead man's name has not been released.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. Paul Timmons said the semi appeared to have stopped because of a Stroud school bus on fire ahead of it when and the van crashed into the rig.

The collision occurred about 30 minutes after the school bus caught fire while traveling on I-44.

Authorities say 23 students and two adults on the bus escaped safely.
