Spring Creek, NV : Four people killed, two others injured in car crash on SR 227 on May 27, 2014
four people were killed in a two vehicle T-Bone type crash on SR227 and Spring Creek Parkway in Spring Creek, Nevada.
According to the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Highway Patrol Division, around 9:14 p.m. a 2004 Ford Expedition crashed into a Ford Focus traveling northbound approaching the Spring Creek Parkway, Palace Parkway intersection. The driver of the Expedition was making a left hand turn onto Spring Creek Parkway when the Ford Focus’s front struck the right side of the Expedition.
The Expedition overturned and struck a light pole knocking it over. 24-year-old Jessica Layton of Spring Creek was the driver of the Expedition traveling with a 6-year-old female. Both were transported to the hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. A 19-year-old male, who was not wearing a seat belt, and a 3-year-old-female, were also passengers in the Expedition and sustained fatal injuries. It is unknown if a child restraint was in use.
The 27-year-old male driver and a 25-year-old female passenger of the Ford Focus also sustained fatal injuries and it is unknown if their seat belts were being worn at the time of the accident. The Elko County Coroner’s Office will release the names upon notification of next of kin.
