wrong-way crash in north Philly inlured an officer
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Authorities say they are investigating whether alcohol was injured in a wrong-way crash in north Philadelphia that sent a police officer to the hospital.
Police said a minivan heading the wrong way down a street at about 2 a.m. Thursday hit a parked car and then struck the police sport utility vehicle, which then hit other vehicles.
The 22nd District officer, whose name hasn't been released, was investigating an unrelated vehicle at the time.
He and the minivan driver were rushed a hospital for treatment, but both were expected to recover.
He said it was unclear why the minivan driver was going the wrong way.
