Hazlet Township, N.J : Woman killed, 2 men injured in crash Saturday on Route 36 east in Hazlet Township on September 20, 2014

One person was killed and two others were injured when three vehicles collided on a central New Jersey highway. Monmouth County prosecutors tell the Asbury Park Press that the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. Saturday on Route 36 east in Hazlet Township. A car driven by a 60-year-old woman and a pickup truck driven by a 51-year-old man collided at an intersection and began to spin. A car that was behind the pickup then struck both vehicles. The 60-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver and a 28-year-old man driving the other car were injured in the crash, but further details on their conditions were not available. The names of the three drivers have not been released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
