Bismarck, N.D : 9-year-old girl hit by a car while crossing the street near Jeannette Myhre Elementary School on Tuesday, April 28, 2015

A 9 year old Bismarck girl was hit by a car Tuesday when leaving school.

Bismarck Police say they were called to South 12th street near Jeanette Myhre Elementary school at 3:07 pm.

A 77 year old woman was driving north bound when she hit a girl crossing the street.

Bismarck Police say the 9 year old girl was crossing to meet her parent who was in the Cashwise parking lot.

The girl was knocked down but got back up.

The family of the girl refused ambulance service.

The girl was not walking in a designated cross walk.

According to Bismarck police, a number of cars were parked illegally obstructing the driver's view.

The girl stepped onto the street between two of the illegally parked cars.

The driver was not cited, but it was sent to the city attorney for review.
