Jackson,MS : Two car crash on Hwy 18 near Wells Road sends one to the hospital on August, Friday 1st 2017

A two car crash on Highway 18 sent one man to the hospital Friday evening.

It happened around 6:40 p.m., near the Wells Road intersection.

According to the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department, a witness said a green Dodge Dakota was traveling south on Wells Road, when he ran the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 18.

A news release from the department said the green pick-up truck struck a black Ford Explorer.

According to Hinds County Major Pete Luke, the driver of the black SUV was taken to a hospital, with a broken leg and possibly other injuries.

Luke says the driver of the green pick-up truck refused medical attention.

“This is a highly traveled highway and this intersection has had numerous serious accidents. It is not controlled by a traffic light,” Luke wrote in the news release.
