FRAMINGHAM , MA : cited after three-car crash in Framingham on Tuesday, 30th August, 2016
Framingham, Massachusetts
A Framingham man has been cited after a three-car crash on Central Street on Tuesday that sent his wife to a Boston hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Police cited Naum Belozovsky, 70, for a marked lanes violation after the 4:05 p.m. crash on Central Street near the Massachusetts Turnpike bridge, police spokesman Lt. Stephen Cronin said.
His wife, Rozaliya Belozovsky, 67, was taken to Tufts Medical Center in Boston with serious right leg and arm injuries, the lieutenant said. She remained hospitalized on Wednesday, listed in good condition, according to a Tufts spokesman.
Naum Belozovsky was also injured, as was Milton Felix, 38, of Fall River, who was driving the second car. Both went to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham to be treated.
The driver of the third car, Kevin Shields, 61, of Westborough, complained of leg pain after the crash but declined medical treatment, Cronin said.
Cronin said Belozovsky was driving his Honda north on Central Street when the car swerved over the center line and crashed head on into Felix's Toyota. The Honda spun and ended up in the southbound lane in the path of Shields' Ford, who was behind the Toyota. The Ford crashed into the side of the Honda, Cronin said.
"Both the driver and passenger of vehicle one (the Belozovksys) and the driver of vehicle two (Felix) were trapped in their vehicles and the fire department had to cut them from their vehicles," Cronin said.
Both of their cars were totaled. Cronin did not know how much damage Shields' car sustained.
Central Street was closed for approximately an hour as investigators tried to determine the cause of the crash.
