A Johnson City woman was injured in an auto accident in Stanton County on Wednesday night.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Robbie Trussell, 87, Johnson City, was stopped at the intersection of Stanton County Road 5 and Big Bow Grade in rural Stanton County, 16 miles northwest of Ulysses. Trussell, who was driving a GMC Yukon XL 1500, failed to yield at a stop sign and drove under the trailer of an oncoming Peterbuilt semi driven by Jorge Villanueva, 53, of Lakin.
Trussell was wearing a seat belt but was injured in the accident, according to the KHP.
Villanueva was not wearing a seat belt but suffered no injuries.
Trussell was transported to St. Catherine Hospital and then transferred to Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.
