Police say two Rhode Island men died after a crash on state Route 24 in Massachusetts.
A preliminary investigation by state police shows a vehicle was traveling northbound in Fall River on Sunday when it veered off the right side of the roadway and hit a tree.
Authorities say the 36-year-old driver and a 23-year-old passenger, both of Providence, Rhode Island, were taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital where they were pronounced dead. Another passenger was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
The victims' identities are being withheld pending family notification.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
