NASHVILLE, TN : A man is in critical condition after a violent crash in East Nashville on Friday, 15th June 2018

A man is in critical condition after a violent crash in East Nashville on Friday morning.

The wreck happened at the intersection of North 7th Street and Main Street.

Police initially thought the 28-year-old man had been shot because a semi-automatic handgun was found inside the vehicle.

According to police, a witness saw the white Kia failing to stay inside its lane and then cross over into oncoming lanes of traffic, eventually hitting a large sign in front of a business.
