Madison County, MS : 26-year-old Terrence Mitchell died in crash on Nissan Drive Wednesday night, June 8, 2016

One person was killed in an accident on Nissan Drive Wednesday night.

Corporal Eric Henry with MHP has identified the victim as 26-year-old Terrence Mitchell of Jackson.

Henry said Mitchell was headed to work at Nissan, when the accident occurred. Mitchel died on the scene.

The preliminary investigation shows the Ryder Rentals truck, an 18-wheeler, was making a left turn from the southbound turning lane of Nissan Dr. onto Ragsdale Rd., when Mitchell was traveling northbound on Nissan Dr. struck the rear side of the trailer of the 18-wheeler, Henry said.

We're told the driver of the truck was not injured.

The accident is under investigation.
