Standish, MI: Two travelers suffer non-life-threatening injuries in collision on Friday, July 31st 2015
The drivers of two vehicles involved in a traffic crash at the intersection of Worth Road and US-23 in Standish Township July 31 were transported from the scene via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.Arenac County Undersheriff Don McIntyre said the accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. when a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling westbound on Worth Road collided with a Buick automobile headed north on US-23.The driver of the pickup, Darrell Burns of Standish, 42, was taken to St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital by Arenac County MMR, as was the driver of the car, Jean Reed of West Branch, 52.There were two passengers in the pickup truck at the time of the incident. McIntyre said one of the passengers was transported to the hospital due to an medical issue unrelated to the accident.The Standish Area Fire Authority, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police, MMR and H & R Towing assisted the sheriff’s department at the scene. Emergency vehicles cleared the scene at approximately 4:42 p.m.
