Yakima, WA : One taken to hospital following head-on crash on South 48th Avenue Wednesday, March 15, 2017

Yakima police said a woman was taken to a local hospital following a two-car, head-on crash Wednesday.

The woman was driving north on South 48th Avenue between West Nob Hill Boulevard and West Viola Avenue about 12:40 p.m. when a medical condition caused her to swerve into the southbound lane and strike another vehicle head on, according to police spokesman Mike Bastinelli.

The occupants of the other car — a woman, her daughter and granddaughter — were not injured, Bastinelli said.

No further information on the accident was available, Bastinelli said.
