MIDDLETOWN, RI : Police identify Middletown woman killed in 'tragic, tragic accident' on Saturday, 1st February, 2020

A woman in a yard was killed Saturday about 2:30 p.m. when she was hit by another woman backing out of a driveway, according to police. A man who also was in the yard was hit by the car and transported to Newport Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Gertrude Mackin, 80, of Middletown, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from Middletown police Sunday morning. Tristan Mouligne, also of Middletown, remains in Rhode Island Hospital as of Sunday morning with serious injuries, the press release says.
