Jefferson City,MO : Fulton resident dies in Accident on Saturday, 12th May 2018
One Fulton resident was killed and another three were hurt in two separate crashes in Callaway County.
Alexander McDonald, 21, was not wearing a seatbelt when he was ejected from the 2001 Subaru Forester he was driving when it overturned early Saturday morning before sunrise on Route C, about a mile north of County Road 400.
McDonald was driving south when the Forester went off the right side of the road and ovvercorrected. The SUV veered back onto the road, overturned off the left side and came to rest off the roadway.
McDonald was declared dead at the scene at 3:54 a.m. by Boone County Medical Examiner Dori Burk.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reported that for Troop F, McDonald's death is the third fatality for the month of May and the 20th for 2018.
Christy Cook, 32, and Bynum Waltten, 45, were moderately injured in a crash Friday at about 4:50 p.m. A 3-year-old girl also received minor injuries in the same crash.
Cook was driving westbound on Interstate 70 with Waltten and the girl as passengers, when at about mile marker 149.8, Cook swerved to avoid another vehicle, drove into the median, overcorrected and overturned the vehicle.
The vehicle came to rest atop the cable barrier in the highway median.
The 3-year-old was buckled in, but Cook and Waltten were not wearing seatbelts. All three were transported to University Hospital in Columbia — Cook and the girl by ambulance and Waltten by helicopter.
