A driver crashed into a utility pole in east Charlotte Thursday morning, closing a road and leaving nearly 300 homes without power.
The driver ran off after crashing into a power pole on E WT Harris near Idlewild Road, police say. The southbound lanes of WT Harris are expected to remain closed through the morning commute.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m.
Duke Energy has not said when they expect to have power restored in the area.
