Coolidge, AZ : 76-year-old California man killed and three people injured in two-vehicle crash on State Route 287 in Pinal County on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016

A 76-year-old California man was killed in a two-vehicle crash just south of Coolidge on Tuesday morning, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

The man was a passenger in a minivan traveling eastbound along State Route 287 when the vehicle entered the intersection into the path of a pickup truck that was traveling southbound along State Route 87, according to a DPS statement.

Officials say the man wasn't wearing a seat belt when the pickup truck struck the minivan’s front-left side, and the impact resulted in the man's fatal head injuries.

The minivan driver and another passenger, as well as the driver of the pickup truck, were all flown from the scene to Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center and Maricopa Integrated Health System. None of the three had life-threatening injuries, officials said.
