Red Bluff city, CA : Unidentified man dies in head-on crash on Highway 99 West at Tyler Road early Tuesday, June 21, 2016
A man died early Tuesday after crashing his vehicle into another vehicle that made a turn in front of him, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported at about 4:55 a.m. on Highway 99 West at Tyler Road, just south of Red Bluff city limits.
Officers said Carmon Anderson, 42, of Red Bluff, was driving her 2013 Kia south on the highway preparing to turn left onto Tyler Road.
She failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming 2002 Saturn and the vehicles collided head-on, according to the CHP.
Both drivers were taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff, where the man died, officers said.
The CHP does not know the identity of the man, as he was driving without identification and the car registration listed a woman's name and address, officers said. The Tehama County Coroner's Office has responded to the case to help identify the man.
The CHP said drugs and alcohol weren't a factor in the crash.
