Wilmington, DE : Wilmington man in serious condition after being hit by car on North Market Street on Saturday, June 25, 2016

The Delaware State Police say a man is in serious condition after being struck by a car in Wilmington.

State Police say the crash happened around 7 p.m. Saturday on North Market Street north of 38th Street. State Police say the driver of a 2005 Buick was traveling southbound when another driver got out of his car and began walking across North Market Street.

State Police say the man was not in a crosswalk and was hit. State Police identified him as 28-year-old Phillip Baul of Wilmington. State Police say he was issued a traffic summons for failing to cross at a crosswalk.

The driver of the Buick and her passenger were not injured.
