State police say a 67-year-old Woburn man died of injuries suffered when his motorcycle veered into a guardrail on the access road between Route 128 and the Middlesex Turnpike in Burlington on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the access road about 4:20 p.m., for a report of a motorcycle crash and found that the 67-year-old had been thrown from the motorcycle and was unresponsive, according to a press release.
A preliminary investigation determined the 67-year-old, whose name was not immediately released, was driving a 2014 Honda motorcycle on the access road when he veered to the right and struck a guardrail for reasons that remain under investigation, according to a press release.
The 67-year-old was taken by ambulance to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to state police.
The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Jason Beausoleil, with assistance from the state police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the Crime Scene Services Section.
Burlington firefighters and EMTs assisted at the scene of the crash.
