Fredericksburg, VA : Driver killed in wrong-way crash on I-95 in Stafford on Friday, October, 13th 2017
The Virginia State Police has identified the man who died after the van they say he was driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer.
Darwin William Hogan, a 21-year-old Fredericksburg resident, died at Mary Washington Hospital on Thursday, several hours after the 2:30 a.m. crash in Stafford County. The tractor-trailer driver suffered minor injuries.
The Virginia State Police said the driver of a van headed north on southbound I–95 and crashed into the Peterbuilt tractor-trailer in the center lane just north of Centreport Parkway.
The crash closed the south side of the interstate until about 7:15 a.m.
The state police continue to investigate the incident and have not said why the van was going the wrong way.
