BURTON, SC : 1 dead after pickup strikes tree in Beaufort Co. crash on Sunday, 2nd June 2024

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Beaufort County.

The crash happened in the area of County Shed Road and Parris Island Gateway just after 7 a.m., Lance Cpl. Lena Butler said.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office shut down the roadway and asked drivers to avoid the area as they investigated.

Butler said a 2020 Ford F150 was traveling south when it went off the roadway and hit a tree.
