Two dead in overnight Bay area accidents

Two men lost their lives overnight in separate fatal accidents in the Bay area.St. Petersburg police say the first crash involved a motorcycle early Saturday around 1 a.m.
According to reports, a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling westbound in the 1600 block of 1st Avenue N. at a high rate of speed.For an unknown reason, the driver -- 26-year-old Geno Lanzaro of Pasadena -- lost control of the bike, sliding on the road.Police say Lanzaro came to rest under a parked and unattended car on the street, while the motorcycle continued to slide an additional 393 feet.Emergency crews pronounced Lanzaro dead at the scene.

Another deadly accident happened in Tampa, just two hours later at West Hillsborough Avenue and Countryway Boulevard.Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies first responded to the fatal accident, but FHP officials are now handling it.According to reports, 28-year-old Moris Rakaj was driving a 1999 Ford Contour westbound on W. Hillsborough Ave. on the inside lane.

At the same time, a 38-year-old man was driving a 2007 Saturn Sky on the same street and direction in front of the Ford.In the opposite direction, a 60-year-old man was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla.Troopers say Rakaj crashed his Ford into the Saturn, then the Ford crossed over the median -- colliding with the Toyota.
