A DeFuniak Springs man and woman are in critical condition following a late-night, one-vehicle accident in Walton County.
According to a media release from the Florida Highway Patrol, Kenneth James Mount, 54, was driving eastbound in a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup on Padgett Road (Walton CR 183B) at 12 a.m. Thursday when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. The truck then left the road on the south shoulder, traveling through a ditch and striking a large pine tree.
Mount and a passenger, 47-year-old Elizabeth Renee Little, were both transported to Bay Medical Center in Panama City and listed in critical condition, according to FHP.
FHP also noted alcohol test results were pending.
