Waimanalo, HI: Vehicle slammed into a telephone pole in Waimanalo on Tuesday, August 4th 2015

Honolulu police reopened Kalanianaole Highway in both directions in Waimanalo at about 6 a.m. Wednesday.A vehicle slammed into a telephone pole at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, causing a telephone pole to lean dangerously over the road.The closure was in effect between Bellows Air Force Base and Inoaole Street.Hawaiian Telcom crews worked through the night to get the cables off the road, and replaced the pole.The company said there were no service outages due to the crash.
