One person is dead and another critically injured after a one-car crash on Route 7 in Georgia.

It happened at about 11 p.m. Tuesday. When Vermont State Police arrived, they found both occupants ejected from the car. Police say the passenger, Leonard Delage, 32, of Georgia, Vermont, died from his injuries in the crash.

The driver, Justin Hemond, 28, was first taken to Northwestern Medical Center, then transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center because of the severity of his injuries.

Police say the car rolled multiple times before hitting a culvert. Officers believe speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
