A Columbia man died in a high-speed motorcycle crash in Boone County Saturday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:35 p.m.

Officers say 24-year-old Ryan Gunier was driving westbound on Route K on a 2008 Triumph motorcycle. 17-year-old Catherine Holt, also of Columbia, was driving southbound in a 2015 Nissan Altima.

The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and it crashed into the car.

Gunier was pronounced dead on the scene. Holt was not injured.
