Pescadero,CA : Redwood City man killed in crash on San Mateo County coast on January, Monday 29th 2018

A man died in a rollover crash in Pescadero overnight Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday on Pescadero Creek Road east of Stage Road. CHP officers arrived to find the driver dead in a field about 30 feet from his wrecked Mercedes-Benz.The CHP said it appeared as though the driver had been speeding east sometime Monday night when he failed to negotiate a curve, veered off the roadway and hit a dirt embankment. The car then overturned.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the Mercedes, according to the CHP.

Drugs and alcohol are suspected as factors in the crash.
