A chain reaction crash in Virginia Beach ends with one car hitting a tree and going up in flames during Thursday's morning commute.
According to WAVY, the three-vehicle collision occurred Thursday morning along Indian River Road near Interstate 64. Police say it started when one car didn't realize traffic was stopped and moved into the left lane, striking a second car.
That second car then crashed into a third car, which then hit a tree and caught fire.
WAVY reports the driver of the third car was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
Virginia Beach Police have charged the driver who started the chain reaction crash with performing an unsafe lane change.
