PARMA, NY : Driver sentenced in fatal Parma crash on Wednesday, 26th June 2019
A Riga man will now serve 7 and 1/3 years to 22 years in prison after causing a fatal crash in Parma earlier this year.
Matthew Magar, 31, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, aggravated DWI, DWI with a BAC of .08 or more, DWI, and second-degree reckless endangerment.
On Jan. 7 around noon, deputies say Magar blew through a stop sign at the intersection of Clarkson-Parma Townline Road and Parma Center Road at a speed between 90 and 105 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. Magar hit a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Dilek Ogut who was pronounced dead at the scene.
