Richland,MO : Richland man killed in one-car crash Friday morning on February, Friday 16th 2018

A one-car crash on Highway 7 in Pulaski County Friday morning was fatal for a Richland man.

Gene M. Jaegers, 34, was killed when the car he was a passenger in wrecked seven miles south of Richland.

The 1986 Mercury Colony Park Wagon was southbound when the accident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. February 16. Stacey A. Cirocco, 40, of Richland was driving.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the driver failed to negotiate a curve. Dispatched to the scene at 11:07 a.m., personnel from Tri-County Fire Protection District arrived on scene at 11:16. The crash had occurred in the S-curves south of Richland in the 23000 block of Highway 7, according to information released by the department.

The station wagon had travelled off the right side of the roadway, according to the MSHP crash report, and struck an embankment and a tree.

Tri-County firefighters reported one occupant being trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

According to the MSHP report, Jaegers was pronounced deceased at the scene at 12:03 p.m. by Pulaski County Coroner Nick Pappas.

Cirocco was transported to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment. The MSHP report described her injuries as moderate.

Other agencies on scene included the Pulaski County Ambulance District and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department. The MSHP Major Crash Investigation Team also responded.

The report indicated both occupants of the car were wearing seatbelts. The car was towed from the scene.

This was MSHP Troop I’s fourth fatality for the month and the year.
