Newport, OH : Two people injured after a tractor trailer accident on Route 7 in Newport on Thursday night, Nov 19, 2015

A tractor trailer accident sent two people to the hospital Thursday night.

It happened on Route 7 in Newport.

Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Jeep traveled left of center and crashed into a tractor trailer.

The Jeep's driver, 37-year-old Nathan Anderson, was trapped inside his vehicle. Officials say Newport firefighters released him.

He was flown to a Columbus hospital. His condition is unknown as of Thursday night.

As for the truck driver, Highway Patrol says his wife took him to Marietta Memorial to be checked out.

Investigators say they're still waiting on toxicology results. Charges are possible.

Route 7 was closed during clean up and has since reopened.
